Workhouses

A workhouse was a place where people who were unable to support themselves could go to live and work. The Oxford Dictionary's earliest reference to a workhouse dates to 1652 in Exeter. There is, however, some written evidence that workhouses existed before this date. Records mention a workhouse in 1631 in Abingdon. The vagrants' and casual workers' ward of a workhouse was colloquially known as a spike, from the tool used to unpick oakum.

Stranger Than Fiction

pimg_793201143365059The summary:

This is a story which begin in a suburb. The sky is faintly lit. I suppose that the scene takes place in the morning. First, we see a block of flats then, a bedroom where a man is asleep. His name is Harold Crick. His wristwatch ring at quarter past seven, the man wakes up and goes to stop the alarm clock. He goes to brush is teeth and gives seventy-six brush strokes. He get dressed next he tie a tie. He wear formal clothes, so I can say, he is fussy and robot-like.

It's probably an accountant because he can do incredible calculations in his mind. He keeps counting: for brush his teeth, for tie a tie, for walk. During this film, Harold Crick hears voices. He speaks at  his toothbrush. In fact, he hears the voice of the narator.

The realisator's name is Marc Forster. You can click here for see him. For more informations, you can click here
